About Diaspora North

A platform built by newcomers, for newcomers.

Northern Ontario is growing — and so is its diaspora. Diaspora North exists to help newcomers settle in, connect with neighbours, and discover the local businesses that already call the North home.

What we do

• Curate resources for housing, healthcare, schools, work and settlement — in plain language.
• List local businesses across the region, with a focus on diaspora-owned and newcomer-friendly ventures.
• Tell stories from our communities — profiles, guides and news that help people find their footing here.

Who we serve

New immigrants to Thunder Bay, Sudbury, Sault Ste. Marie, North Bay, Timmins and the rest of Northern Ontario — plus the longtime residents and businesses who want to welcome and work alongside them.
